Selection

Entrance to the courses run by SWMTC is restricted to those who have been selected for training by their sponsoring churches.

Therefore application must, in the first instance, be made through those churches.  Each of the churches has its own rigorous selection procedure, usually with a lengthy process of interviews and meetings, followed by formal selection conferences.  Your own home minister should be the first contact.  The following could be contacted for all those considering training for ordination or Reader ministry.

The University of Exeter (Exeter and Truro)

David Rhymer, Head of Part Time Theology, Exeter University Students wishing to learn more about the Certificate in Theology course should contact David Rhymer  at The University of Exeter. 

Although this part-time course is taken by all ordinands, it is not restricted to them.

 

The College of St Mark and St John (Plymouth)

Students wishing to learn more about the Church Colleges' Certificate at the College of St Mark and St John ('Marjon') should contact Gaynor Pollard at the College. This Level 1 course is taken by some SWMTC students living close to Plymouth.
